Education & Career
With two master’s degrees: Education from USA and Applied Linguistics from UK, Beryl has a background as a teacher in the UK and Tanzania, and as a headteacher. She was teacher trainer for Oxford University Press and supervisor for Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, being presented with a Founder’s Award. Then Zayed University in their startup year, before setting up a consultancy and training business – Beryl was the first to bring wellness courses and one to one coaching using NLP, EFT and Hypnotherapy to the Middle East and has trained hundreds in the region to continue this work in many languages.
SleepTalk Consultant
The SleepTalk system found its way from Australia to Dubai with the 2014 appointment of Beryl Comar as the SleepTalk Middle East Consultant, where it has benefited thousands of families in the Arabian Gulf. Beryl was trained personally by Joane Goulding and appointed by her to train parents in the method.
Awards
In 1982 Al Ittihad School (where Bery was School Principal) was awarded The Aga Khan Award.
In 2005 Beryl was awarded NLP Gold Master Trainer by NFNLP http://www.nfnlp.com/.
In 2008 Beryl received The Hallmark Award, voted best presenter at the NGH Convention.
In 2010 The National Guild of Hypnotists awarded Beryl to their highest level, “Order of The Braid”, named after Dr James Braid who first used the term hypnosis in 1800s http://www.ngh.org/.
She was a speaker at the NGH annual convention as well as an accomplished presenter at dental conventions on Pain Control and Hypnodontics and The Broken Heart Cure. Beryl used to appear regularly on Dubai One TV as “Dubai’s Agony Aunt”.
